Citizen Sentinels Newsletter – 1/16/19 Benjamin Franklin on God, Politics and the Bill of Rights

Newsletter – 1/16/19

This year, the Citizen Sentinels begin 2019 with the intent to stimulate an awareness and an “awakeness” to patriots, Conservatives, and Christians who care about the United States of America. This week we celebrate the birthday of one of the most profound of America’s Founders, Ben Franklin who was born on January 17th. We feature two articles on Dr. Franklin that reveal more about him than you may have previously known about America’s “Renaissance Man.” However, as America has drifted so far from the ideals of the Founding Fathers, we offer a potential modern-day renaissance. An article by Pastor Earl Wallace introduces a way to return to God’s “original blueprint” for the United States of America. It bears reading carefully. We also encourage readers to go directly to Pastor Wallace’s YouTube presentation on the same topic:

This week we are also featuring an article from one of our allies in the fight for the soul of America: Tim Taylor, the founder of Kingdom League International. We are again featuring a portion of Tim’s blog about spiritual warfare, and provide a link to their website, so readers can go directly to their site:

We also encourage readers to go directly to their site for future blog updates.

The Biblical Basis of the Bill of Rights

By Pastor Earl Wallace, Pastor, Liberty Christian Fellowship.

The First Amendment begins with Freedom of Religion, to safeguard our public worship of God per 10 Commandments 1-4. If America’s Founders wanted “separation of church and state,”they would have made five separate amendments, instead of combining five activities into one amendment, which begins with Freedom of Religion because The Bible is supposed to be the foundation of America’s national conscience to guide our sense of …

what is proper and improper Free Speech;
how the Free Press should report as criminal behavior that which The Bible calls public sin and should proclaim as noteworthy that which the Bible calls praiseworthy;
why we freely Assemble for church and Bible studies, so we understand our God-given rights
why we should Petition government to Redress our Grievances (violations) of the government breaking God’s Commandments against “We the People!”

The following is a substantial excerpt from an article entitled “It’s Time to Recalibrate Our Moral Compass!” by founder of Kingdom League International, Tim Taylor. The original first appeared in his blog on January 7th of this year.

It’s Time to Recalibrate Our Moral Compass!

By Tim Taylor,  Founder, Kingdom League International

Charles Finney said in the 19th century that “if our politics become so corrupt that the very foundations of our government are ready to fall away, then the pulpit is responsible for it.”

For the last 50+ years, due to the Church’s eschatology, the pulpit by and large has withdrawn from addressing the moral issues of the day. In doing so, the Church has lost her voice. It no longer introduces truth to correct for the world’s deviation.

We are in a culture war. In this kind of war, the lay of the land is determined by who controls the language, as language is used to determine the boundaries, or frame an issue. The language is used to map out all the elements in a issue.

Remember that Satan is the father of lies, a deceiver and a murderer (John 8:44). He comes to kill, steal and destroy (John 10:10), That’s his modus operandi. The best lies and best deceits include significant portions of truth.

Why? Because it is easier to trick more people through ignorance and apathy.

How does he do it?

Lifelong Resolutions

By Susan Schrier Clouse

By the time he was 24 years old in 1730, Ben Franklin, had lived a quite a life.  He had also established himself as a printer, married and started a family.  While not a fan of the organized church, he supported his local Presbyterian congregation and attended occasionally.

After much study, he made a list of thirteen virtues he thought were “necessary and desirable” and defined each. For the list, and the rest of this article…

Benjamin Franklin – The great inventor helped invent America

by Dennis Jamison Jan 16, 2019

SAN JOSE, January 16, 2019— This week is the birthday of one of the most important Founding Fathers who served his country before and after it became a legitimate nation. Benjamin Franklin possibly could have served as the unofficial president of the United States. Sadly, Americans have never honored this great American as they have done for others less remarkable. Benjamin Franklin once wrote that “If you would not be forgotten, as soon as you are dead and rotten, either write things worthy of reading, or do things worth the writing.” Franklin did both, but unfortunately, he is not often easily remembered for all of the incredible things he did, or for the words of wisdom he left for posterity.
