From Our Founder… The tragedy of the destruction of the Notre Dame Cathedral reminds us all that objects of great value do not last forever. In this issue of the Citizen Sentinels Network newsletter, one of our writers, Karen Hagestad Cacy, takes a look at the tragedy of the loss of the Notre Dame relics, but in a second article she also examines a loss of something much greater – the citizen trust of the American political process, as she tackles the recent Democrat coup.
The newsletter also features a seminal article from Pastor Earl Wallace and myself about a return to the values of the Founding Fathers. Michael Lewinski clarifies that the Tea Party is still alive, and that may prove very important in the 2020 elections. We are including a report from young conservative from Oklahoma who recently attended his first GOP convention. We are also featuring another review of the movie Unplanned. This review is from a medical professional, Dr. Richard Moss, who was a 2018 GOP candidate for Congress from Indiana.
Dr. Richard Moss offers a scathing commentary of the culture that has been manifested by the Leftists. It is insightful, yet a bit alarming. Yet, it should be alarming. The article by Earl Wallace and myself promotes a way back to the original blueprint for the Judeo-Christian nation God had helped to create. Our intent is to stimulate thought and action in our time.
There is a definite battle raging still for the hearts and minds of the American people. This battle is a determining moment, not just in American history, but in world history. Citizen Sentinels are intent upon playing a small part in that overall battle. It is not a time to sit on the sidelines. Help take up the battle as the Citizen Sentinels grow in 2019. It is time to fight back — time for “We the People” to challenge the culture of corruption!
When it comes to Notre Dame, hear no evil, speak no evil, see no evil
COLORADO SPRINGS: Paris’s Notre Dame Cathedral, built in the 17th century, burned this week. Even before its embers were out, reporters re-telling the historic event. And they are emphasizing a benign explanation for one of the world’s most destructive fires.
However, It matters whether the fire was set by terrorists or by a careless restorer. Moreover, nefarious explanations of the fire are already being blacked out.
Those in charge seemingly are sending a message that when an iconic symbol of Western Civilization burns, we are to remain silent. We must not speak of it. We must not knit together facts.
As many see Western Civilization under attack, we are told to, “See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil.”
There’s nothing to see here, folks. Just move along.
The Biblical Basis of the Bill of Rights
By Pastor Earl C. Wallace and Dennis Jamison
The government of the United States is a constitutional republic, meaning we are organized under a constitution of laws that everyone is supposed to obey, from the President of the United States to the youngest person. Yet, many citizens do not clearly understand all the provisions of the U.S. Constitution. And today, many citizens do not easily realize that there is a discernible connection between the principles in America’s Bill of Rights and the Bible’s Ten Commandments. The Bill of Rights, also known as the first Ten Amendments to the U.S. Constitution, provided the framework within which our beloved homeland was governed and regulated.
These ten provisions of the Bill of Rights were written by America’s founding fathers to guide the government of the newly created United States.
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado: On this Easter Sunday, April 21, 2019, there is much to be thankful for. In the week preceding Good Friday, America was treated to an “apocalypse.” “Apocalypse” is a Greek word meaning “revelation”, “an unveiling or unfolding of things not previously known and which could not be known apart from the unveiling.”
For perhaps the first time in our nation’s history, we have just endured, and sidestepped, an attempted coup d’etat. The release of the Mueller Report submitted through, this writer imagines, the Special Counsel’s gritted teeth. The report shows that no one, least of all the president, cooperated with Russia to subvert the American presidential election.
Heretofore secret government documents are showing Americans the darker underpinnings of the former administration in their failed attempts to discredit Citizen-President Trump.
The Tea Party is Alive and Well
By Michael J. Lewinski 04/16/19
At ‘Stop Socialism, Choose Freedom’ Tax Day rallies in Indiana and around the nation, they had signs which declared ‘Progressives are the enemies of America,’ ‘Stand Against Socialism,’ and ‘Socialism =Tyranny.’
The rallies marked the 10-year anniversary of the founding of the Tea Party. I have been attending Tea Party events since 2009. I helped found five Tea Party groups in Indiana and Michigan.
The Tea Party was formed to protect personal freedom, economic freedom, and a debt-free future by promoting small government, personal responsibility and the rule of law under the U.S. Constitution. Their goal today is the same as it was when we first formed. Today, however, it is even more imperative to advance these goals since the Democrats have transformed into “Democratic” Socialists.
Unplanned: A review of the film and the state of our culture
By Dr. Richard Moss
I took my two youngest children to see “Unplanned,” a Christian pro-life movie. It provided a different message than what is typical in our media and general culture. We are a conservative Jewish home, perhaps a little unusual in the American Jewish community, which is broadly Democrat and liberal. With so many movies and other aspects of our culture shifting ever more to the left, the opportunity to see a film that delivers a more traditional religious theme was welcome, rare as it is.
The movie tracks the life of Abby Johnson, who early in the story has two abortions, including one chemically induced by the abortifacient RU-486, in a particularly agonizing scene. She is recruited to be a volunteer at a Planned Parenthood Clinic in Texas, and eventually attracts the attention of the director, Cheryl. We observe the arc of Abby’s thinking. At first, she is comfortable in her role at the clinic, believing that she is helping women in crisis. As she sees it, she is providing necessary reproductive health care and “family planning,”and thereby reducing the number of unwanted pregnancies and abortions.
An Arkansas Conservative Provides Perspective on the 2019 Oklahoma GOP State Convention By Dante Duran
As a recent graduate from John Brown University with a degree in Electrical Engineering, it may seem odd that someone new to intra-party politics from Arkansas wound up at the 2019 Oklahoma Republican state convention. Yet, after finally graduating, I wanted to involve myself in politics in some way. I had been volunteering with the Benton County chapter of Americans For Prosperity in Rogers Arkansas for about a month prior to the Oklahoma convention. The week of the convention I got a call from a friend, a delegate to the Oklahoma GOP convention, and she invited me to the convention. I thought for a few days, but finally resolved that I would feel very disappointed in myself if I let this opportunity slip past me. I did not know what to expect. Honestly, I did not carry any expectations either.
Among the agenda items brought to the vote was the consideration of an amendment to the party rules proposed by Tulsa county which would require candidates to give statements on where they agree or disagree with the party platform. It was not intended as a litmus test disqualifying anything other than total ideological purity, but to promote clarity on where candidates stood on issues important to the state GOP party.
