CSN Newsletter 7/17/19

From Our Founder… 7/17/19

This edition of the Citizen Sentinels Network news offers commentary on a number of critical issues facing Christians and conservative patriots as well as regular American citizens. Each writer offers a unique perspective as well as a better understanding of these issues. My article offers a report on Dr. Ben Carson and his efforts as Secretary of the federal Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Michael Lewinski’s article exhorts American citizens to speak the truth and stand up to the pervasive Progressive political machine. It echoes to a degree what Dr. Ben Carson has been advocating for quite a while.

A new writer for the CSN newsletter, Bonnie Parsley from California offers a perspective of how the policies and practices of the “Democratic” Party of today parallels the absolutist and elitist political policies and practices described in George Orwell’s novel, 1984.

Another contribution is an article from Glen T. Stanton, of Focus on the Family, who exposes the myth that Christianity is shrinking in the United States. According to Stanton, the concept of the demise of religion in America is not true.

Our Video View shows members of “The Squad” refusing to condemn Antifa for their recent attack on an ICE detention center in Tacoma, Washington.

Finally, we share an article from Restore American Glory that responds to Watergate’s Carl Bernstein’s article: “Trump Leading U.S. to “Civil War.”

CSN news also truly hopes you will continue to offer your feedback, and if readers want to become more involved in our efforts, either as a writer-contributor, or an online newsletter distributor, or as an activist, please be brave and provide that feedback!

Regarding last week’s article, “A Sensible Discussion of Effective Gun Laws” By Steve “Doc” Troxel, Ph.D…

Good article. The Johns Hopkins School for Gun Policy and Research stated that requiring background checks on private sales had “no protective effects” meaning they don’t work at keeping guns out of the hands of criminals. And the US DOJ published that less than 1% of criminals got their guns at gun shows (the gun show loophole) All the evidence points to the conclusion that Universal Background Checks are useless at protecting the public. Also, Red Flag Laws haven’t worked at reducing either homicides or suicides. What the gun-grabbers don’t want to admit is that Connecticut had a Red Flag Law before Sandy Hook so why wasn’t the law used to stop the tragedy?  “Mr. Acevedo”

Dr. Ben Carson’s Wisdom in Action

Dennis Jamison, 7/16/19

Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, Dr. Ben Carson, spoke to thousands of Christian Conservatives and patriotic Americans in Denver, Colorado last weekend at the annual Western Conservative Summit. Dr. Carson provided a clear, common sense prescription he is using for the transformation of the government agency. He sees the mission to actually have the government work for the genuine good of the people rather than just appear to work for the welfare of the public. He explained that there were three serious components of his prescription:

1) revitalization; 2) innovation; and 3) deregulation.

Dr. Carson, like many of President Trump’s cabinet members, has been attacked by the Left. Yet,  it may be that the politics of perpetuating poverty is being truly threatened by the good doctor’s prescription. Carson shared with the audience a bit of his own life experience in poverty and being raised only by his mother after his parents divorced. To Carson, housing means more than just having a roof over one’s head. It is, more importantly, a place where families are raised. And, his leadership at HUD reflects that internal perspective. As a result, the strategy he is employing at HUD has reduced homelessness in several parts of the nation — especially for veterans.

Speak the Truth

By Michael J. Lewinski  07/11/19

Progressive Socialist Democrats do not celebrate power to the people, but rather power to the state. Their only concern with people is about how to control as many of them as possible.

Their proposals for Medicare for all is perhaps their biggest grab for power over the people that they have ever attempted. Progressive attempts to outlaw private health insurance will leave no options for ordinary people to access health care other than through Medicare for all.

If you need a doctor, you won’t have access to one. If you need to go to a hospital, you won’t be able to do so. If you need medicine, it will very expensive and you won’t have access to many medications.

Parallels to “1984”

by Bonnie M. Parsley

A rereading of the novel 1984 provides some interesting parallels to the Democrat Party of today. The Party described in George Orwell’s fantasy is alarmingly similar to what many Democrats and those on the left believe. Orwell’s Party relied on an enemy to constantly reinforce the morale of its members. Today, the enemy of the Democrat Party is Donald Trump. President Trump has been painted as a racist, a bigot and as evil as Hitler. Along with President Trump, his supporters have been labeled as homophobes, xenophobes, haters and ignorant.

The government in Orwell’s novel imposes “New Speak,” where certain words are replaced by words approved of by the Party. We see this today where many words cannot be spoken, or the speaker is tarnished with labels that can end his career. Even pronouns that have been part of our language for hundreds of years are now being changed according to an individual’s gender preference.

Not only is language changed and monitored, but thoughts are also controlled by the “Thought Police.” Any deviation from what the Party believes results in arrest and reeducation. Today we see near total conformity by the twenty-four Democrats who are running for President in 2020. Also, many media reflect the same talking points as the Democrat Party. It’s like the Party puts out a statement early in the morning and all the mainstream news media repeat the same words over and over all day long.

Is Christianity Really Shrinking?

By Glen T. Stanton, July 6, 2019

There’s been a rash of stories lately suggesting Christianity is in steep decline and that atheism is rapidly becoming the largest “religion” in the United States. But is such news true? Is Christianity really going the way of the VHS tape?

NO.

As President Ronald Reagan once said of liberals: “It isn’t so much that liberals are ignorant. It’s just that they know so many things that aren’t so.”

Christianity is certainly not declining, and our nation’s citizens are not growing more secular. Let’s look at just three questions that reveal the actual story based on a broad array of leading academic research from our nation’s top sociologists of religion.

AOC, Ilhan Omar repeatedly REFUSE to condemn Antifa attack on ICE!

Keean Bexte of TheRebel.media reports: “I was back in Washington, DC today, and figured I’d try once again to get Democratic Congresswoman Ilhan Omar to answer my questions.”

Watergate’s Carl Bernstein: Trump Leading U.S. to “Civil War”

Posted by Restore American Glory09 Jul 2019

At one time a respected journalist, former Washington Post reporter Carl Bernstein has spent his later years “working” as a political analyst for CNN, where his mind-numbingly stupid, liberal nuggets pass for something akin to wisdom. Many years on from Bernstein’s crowning moment – his and Bob Woodward’s investigation into the Watergate break-in – the reporter is best known now for having his dirty byline on a CNN story about the phony dossier. Not his best moment.

But he seems determined to outdo himself.

In an interview with “Reliable Sources” host Brian Stelter (another winner) this weekend, Bernstein said that President Trump and his supporters were setting the stage for a second Civil War in America.

“This cold civil war predates Donald Trump,” acknowledged Bernstein. “And Donald Trump understood that we are in a cold civil war in this country. And he has exploited it and brought this cold civil war almost to the point of ignition through his actions and his words, which are unprecedented in terms of presidential conduct.

“No president in the history of the United States in 246 years has expressed the kinds of ideas and thoughts and undemocratic notions and authoritarian notions that he has,” he continued.
