From the Editor 8/27/19

This week brings a variety of articles. Our Founder, Dennis Jamison returns with his reflections on the historic civil rights speech by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. which was 56 years ago tomorrow. Our Video Views include the original speech, as well as Elbert Guillory’s comments on the speech along with his reasons for leaving the Democrat party in 2015.

We share an article from DefCon News – this time “fake racism” charges from AOC.

Karen Hagestad Cacy continues our discussion about George Orwell’s book, 1984 and how it is becoming a reality 35 years later.

Michael Lewinski shares his views about the Democrat party and speculates that if they were ever to achieve enough power they would force a return to royal titles to separate the party elites from “us common people.”

Dennis tells us about the Democrats in Colorado and an effort to recall Governor Polis, partly brought on by his efforts to negate Colorado voters’ choices for president by signing the “National Popular Vote” bill.

Finally, I weigh in on why the Liberals hate President Trump so much.

Our Reader Comment this week is about Bonnie Parsley’s article Leftists Want to Reconstruct America…

Peggy M.

Thank you Bonnie! I agree that the future of our country is at stake and the practice of indoctrination in our schools and universities must stop! We must teach our next generations the love of country and about American ingenuity and American exceptionalism.

Reflections on the ‘Dream’ of Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr.

by Dennis Jamison 8/27/19

On August 28, 1963, Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. delivered his now famous “I Have A Dream” speech at the Lincoln Memorial. Approximately 250,000 people attended. It was quite an historic event, and was part of the larger March on Washington organized by several organizations of black Americans. They were attempting to draw attention to the discrimination, physical mistreatment, and racist policies that existed in the Deep South. Such conditions persisted from the end of the Civil War. Almost 100 years later, the rights of black citizens in the Deep South had still been denied through state institutionalized racism. Many Americans were moved when Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. spoke at the foot of the Lincoln Memorial and shared his dream that, “my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.”

When Dr. King spoke those words the impact of their significance resonated with citizens of all races. His was an incredible dream of racial harmony. In fact, of the many words that have been shared by Martin Luther King, Jr., that specific segment is perhaps one of the ones most well remembered by a majority of people. Yet, what happened to such a dream? Today, the United States is more racially charged or volatile than in many years in the past. Charges of racism are continually flung back and forth all across America. Wasn’t Barack Obama’s presidency the alleged transition into a post racially divided America?

Although Barack Hussein Obama made history by becoming the first black president, those who try to link Obama’s achievements to the legacy of Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. have a difficult path to provide plausible persuasion. Comparisons between King and Obama do not entirely ring true. Ironically, while Obama campaigned during the 2008 election, many Americans believed that the fast-rising rock-star Senator would heal the racial divisions in the United States. Yet, his place in history will not likely be viewed as an effort to bring Americans together in unity. Rather, he used his position as POTUS to generate a greater racial divide. Much of that happened because of his use of race as a shield or sword.

AOC Calls the Electoral College a Racist Scam

Courtesy of DefCon News

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez thinks the way we elect presidents in this country is a total scam. The vapid New York Congresswoman says the Electoral College is a racist system that cancels out votes for people of color. Weird, I seem to remember this “racist” scam system putting a black guy in the White House in 2008 and then again in 2012. My guess is that it suddenly became a tool of white supremacy the second that Hillary Clinton lost to Donald Trump. That’s usually how liberal outrage works: everything is great until we lose, then it’s racist.

AOC made some kind of video for Instagram that several outlets are reporting on, but not linking to. We’ll go ahead and take The Hill’s word for the authenticity of this Instagram post.

Ocasio-Cortez was apparently riding in a car through a desolate stretch of desert being sarcastic that there weren’t millions of people basking in the hot sun.

For those who have not yet read it, “1984” is terrifying.

Examples of life following fiction include the Stasi in former East Berlin. Alternatively, Venezuela today. The weaponization of the U.S. security apparatus to wipe out political enemies, and countless other abuses of power worldwide. Past and present.  1984 is set in a then imagined future year of l984, when much of the world has fallen victim to perpetual war,

The Forbidden Nobility

By Michael J. Lewinski

Titles of nobility are forbidden in the Constitution. I believe Progressives are going to strike this provision from our Constitution. I believe this because they are going to undo our form of government, in which President Lincoln noted that our Constitution enabled ballots to replace bullets in order to change governments.

Progressives are striving for a civil war in order to change our form of government. If they win it, the leaders will adopt various titles to distinguish them from us, whom they believe are inferior and are entitled to rule. Perhaps they will call themselves the Leader, the Commandant, or the Supreme Commander, with various other titles going to the other elites.

Denver Post and Jared Polis are hazardous to Colorado Freedom

By Dennis Jamison –August 26, 2019

Several thousands of Coloradans, especially Conservatives, as well as many Republicans, have become a formidable force as they have focused a very serious effort on the recall of Gov. Jared Polis this summer. The effort has been resisted by the state’s mainstream media outlets even before the official procedures were initiated. And the Denver Post, back on July 22nd published an editorial by their Editorial Board telling readers to “Decline to sign the recall petitions for Polis, Pettersen and Lee,” including targeted Democrat senators in their appeal. Presumably the Post does not want to have any harm to come their candidate of choice, or their pet political party. It could be bad public relations for the media outlet, if the candidate they endorsed for governor in 2018 would be rejected because the values of Colorado voters actually do not resonate well with the morally and politically destructive opinions of the media elitists at the Post.

In that July editorial, the editorial board proudly admitted that they supported the issues Jared Polis advocated during his campaign. So, despite the fact that destroying the Electoral College did not come into the daylight during the campaign, the Denver Post, being the “all knowing” media outlet that it purports to be, must have had knowledge of Polis’ intent to sign away the precious votes of the people of Colorado in a national election. Knowing the political implications of the National Popular Vote effort, essentially intended to destroy the Electoral College, the Post also believes the votes of the people of Colorado should be nullified in a presidential election.

Why Do Liberals Hate Trump?

by Don Rosenberg 8/27/19

Why is it that liberals have such trouble with President Trump? Yes, he’s a conservative, and yes, he wants a border wall, but is there something else about him that just drives them crazy?

I believe that the way he communicates is a major source of their upset.

Sure, we know his tweets drive them crazy, mostly because they’re totally unfiltered and often offensive to some, and often contradictory. I think he does this partly to drive the media crazy – it’s sure working. Trump can control the news of the day with a simple tweet – starving the scores of Democrat presidential candidates of air time and forcing them to make outrageous statements just to get face time.

But the other reason they hate Trump so much is that he doesn’t speak their language of feelings, compassion, feigned politeness and “culture.”

Even though he’s a billionaire, Donald Trump isn’t part of the New York elite. He has more in common with painters and bricklayers than college professors. Think of his history as a real estate developer and builder in New York City.

If you’re a plumber doing a job in Trump Tower and you’re a week behind schedule, you’re not going to hear “Excuse me, would you mind explaining when you think you’ll be done with your work?” No, you’re going to get “WHAT THE —- IS GOING ON? GET THIS JOB DONE IN THE NEXT 24 HOURS OR YOU’RE FIRED, AND I’LL MAKE SURE NO ONE HIRES YOU IN THIS TOWN AGAIN!”

This is the language that works in The City.
