12/23 – Each year Christmas is a time for attending various religious ceremonies, church services, and family celebrations, as Christians throughout the world celebrates the birthday of Jesus Christ. It is now, sadly, under challenge even in the United States of America, often in very subtle ways, and on other occasions, in obviously wicked ways. Yet, Christians find it to be a miraculous time of the year, despite the world around them. At Citizen Sentinels, we acknowledge this time with our Christmas Edition.
The heart of Christmas is about giving, and more importantly, about what Jesus gave after he grew up – his entire being and his very life was given for those who would choose to graft onto the true vine. However, an even deeper concept is that which is expressed in the reality that God so loved the world that he gave to his people the greatest gift of all – the gift of his own son. This CSN edition is offered in honor of giving and the greater gifts we are blessed to receive at this time of year. One of the articles, Sack Lunch,
Has been circulating around the internet for some time, and it may be fiction, but it highlights what does or what can happen when we open our hearts to give.
These words are what we have to offer, but some contain a deeper expression of heart that we hope our readers can receive. For those who celebrate — Merry Christmas!

as Christians, we should not even be involved in political debates and any mean-spirited activities; not at Thanksgiving, not at Christmas; not ever. We would be better served to be praying for all of our leaders, and also voting for government God’s way. So, while we are wrapping the gifts and all of the beautiful activities ahead of us; let us pray.

A “Star” to Follow

Each year at Christmas millions of Christians in America celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, their savior. But, to many Americans, Santa Claus has seemingly become more important than Jesus Christ at Christmastime, as the spiritual values have given way to a more material reality. It is an amazing reversal of the original intent or value of the holiday. However, if Christians consider carefully, did the values of giving and helping others originate with Santa or with Jesus? Is it easier for Americans to believe in Santa Claus than to honor Jesus Christ?
Church issues are the most frequent inquiry I get here at Olive Tree Ministries. Other leaders tell me the same. What has happened in the last 30-40 years? Many people go to church after church only to walk away disheartened. Others are lifetime members of a church and have seen changes that left it unrecognizable — spiritually speaking.
The Latest Survey About Christmas Confirms a National Trend
A new study from Lifeway Research reveals that “most Americans want more religious meaning to Christmas.” Sixty-five percent of those surveyed said, “Christmas should be more about Jesus.”
While that might sound like good news for Christians, the number of Americans who want to “keep Christ in Christmas” – while still a majority – is quickly declining. Just four years ago, 79% of Americans (14% more than this year) agreed that “Christmas should be more about Jesus.”
The Citizen Sentinels Network is dedicated to continuing Dr. Ben Carson’s educational and transformational focus during his 2016 campaign. He held to his Christian beliefs and stood firm on the fundamental principles at the basis of American government.
