CSN Sunday – Messages of Light – 1/17/2021

Dear CSN newsletter readers,

The Citizen Sentinels Network has maintained a project, originally deemed the David Project, since 2018. This is our second birthday in a hostile political environment! Especially, for those readers of faith, the Messages of Light originated as a genuine inspiration from our Heavenly Father. It was initiated to bring Light into the dark in this time. And especially at this time in our nation and in the world, there is clear and present danger that requires the faithful to hold boldly and securely onto the foundations that are rooted in faith.

If you consider the messages in our Sunday edition relevant or meaningful and know others who might value them as well, consider yourself a Light mail messenger and please pass this newsletter on to those whom you feel could welcome it. Or, simply please receive it yourselves.

The Law Placed in the Ark

“When Moses had finished writing in a book the words of this law from beginning to end, he gave this command to the Levites who carried the ark of the covenant of the LORD: ‘Take this Book of the Law and place it beside the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, so that it may remain there as a witness against you. For I know how rebellious and stiff-necked you are. If you are already rebelling against the LORD while I am still alive, how much more will you rebel after my death!’

‘Assemble before me all the elders of your tribes and all your officers so that I may speak these words in their hearing and call heaven and earth to witness against them. For I know that after my death you will become utterly corrupt and turn from the path I have commanded you. And in the days to come, disaster will befall you because you will do evil in the sight of the LORD to provoke Him to anger by the work of your hands.’

“Then Moses recited aloud to the whole assembly of Israel the words of this song from beginning to end…”      Deuteronomy 31:24-30

Many Christians may be familiar with the “Song of Solomon” because it is one of the books of the Old Testament. Although the author has not been fully accepted as the one named at the beginning of this book because it was a later edition, it remains to many that Solomon is the one who wrote it. However, although many Christians do not know of Moses’ song, it is accepted as originating from him. The irony is that this “Song of Songs,” as it is also known, is not really filled with wisdom as people connect Solomon to be one of the wisest of all the kings of Israel. It is a book of love poems. Rabbis and Christian leaders have varying allegorical or metaphorical interpretations of the book.

Yet, the wisdom lies in Moses’ Song. According to Deuteronomy. It was recited to all of the leaders of the Hebrew people just before they were to cross into the Promised Land. The words Moses uses are strong medicine and likely bitter for some of those whom he spoke to in such a gathering. He states that the Law may serve as “… a witness against you. For I know how rebellious and stiff-necked you are. If you are already rebelling against the LORD while I am still alive, how much more will you rebel after my death!” The depth of these words and in Moses’ Song lies not in sharing a blessing as they go into the land that was promised, but it serves as a warning for the future.

Benjamin Franklin gave a similar prophetic warning at the time of the signing of the Constitution of the United States, as America was to begin its great experiment:

In these sentiments, Sir, I agree to this constitution with all its faults, if they are such; because I think a general Government necessary for us, and there is no form of Government but what may be a blessing to the people if well administered, and believe farther that this is likely to be well administered for a course of years, and can only end in despotism, as other forms have done before it, when the people shall become so corrupted as to need despotic Government, being incapable of any other. I doubt too whether any other Convention we can obtain, may be able to make a better constitution.

Much of the strength & efficiency of any government in procuring and securing happiness to the people, depends on opinion; on the general opinion of the goodness of the Government, as well as of the wisdom and integrity of its governors. I hope therefore that for our own sakes as a part of the people, and for the sake of posterity, we shall act heartily and unanimously in recommending this constitution… and turn our future thoughts & endeavors to the means of having it well administered.

In the development of God’s Providence, the United States of America was a nation that was indeed blessed by our Heavenly Father, but we now face an existential crisis of true biblical proportions. Those who are sleeping have not realized this; yet now, a transition  is upon us as a free and independent people. For such a time as this, great wisdom is needed and that wisdom needs to be rooted in prayer – and that means genuine and sincere communication with our Heavenly Father and with one another.

Today, our first message is a prayer for America that was posted on the MyFaithVotes website back in August of last year. It was reposted there with permission from Every Square Inch Ministries. It is well worth taking the time to read it, but it is a good idea to use the words in whatever way one chooses to assemble them to pray to Heavenly Father, as our nation needs much prayer and repentance in this time.

The second full message is one from Apostle Time Taylor. We featured his words last week, but this is a brief message from him regarding such a time as this. The article  had been recently posted on his Kingdom League International site on January 10. His words are a clear form of guidance for all of us who love God and who love our country.

The last message is the Song of Moses, for those of you who would not normally go to the Holy Bible to look it up. But, for those who do, please know that the translation used in this edition is the New American Standard Bible. Ones who prefer their personally favored translation may feel free to refer to such translations. Yet, the words are still a warning. People of faith in America then must wonder: Where does that leave us? We seem to be in unchartered territory at this point. One cannot change the past exploits of those who have called themselves our leaders, and the past corruption will not be easily  “swept under the rug.” What remains for us to do at this point, may yet to be truly shared by those genuine leaders in whom we can trust.

My humble suggestion for such a time as this, is a bold suggestion, is that we, who are called by His name, take responsibility for the corruption and the sins of our leaders and our nation, and that we as sons and daughters of our Heavenly Father enter into sincere and genuine prayer, and like Abraham argued with and bartered with God for the souls of Sodom and Gamorrah, we also should take seriously the need to pray for the souls of our nation. It is a time that we need to take responsibility for our nation before God – the good, the bad, and the downright ugly.

Today we also have three articles in our “Recommended Reading” section. One of them is from Dutch Sheets who is truly helping people remain faith-filled. The other article links are to news pieces that we feel can help to alert the people of faith about the government activities that are affecting our lives and the free exercise of one’s religious beliefs. The last article is one I wrote in 2017 to honor Ben Franklin as today is his true birthday after the shift of the calendar.

We also have seven videos for today. The first one is from Dutch Sheets and relevant for our time. We also have a video from Pastor Jack Hibbs on personal life experience and practicing that which Jesus taught us to practice.

The other videos are musical and are all special. Most we have featured before, but we hope that you can enjoy them all!

Please remember that in this New Year, we are switching the order of our “Recommended Reading” section and our Video Views sections to align more with an order in our regular CSN newsletter.

These words and images are being freely offered and are being sent to you as part of the David Project’s “Messages of Light.” Please receive today’s messages as a gift from those who care. They are only words that are being offered, freely, but some contain a deep message of faith, or a deeper expression of heart that readers can hopefully receive into their lives. As it was written: “Where there is no vision,  the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.”    Proverbs 29:18 – KJV

May we humble ourselves, seek His face, seek His wisdom, seek His forgiveness and His redemptive love, and turn from wickedness, no matter how it manifests.  May we crush our own egos so that God’s Will can prevail and His Kingdom can come on Earth as it is in Heaven. May we once again be able to proudly proclaim ‘One Nation Under God.’

                              “A Prayer for America”

                                         Glenn Sunshine

                                                       8/30/20

Lord, this is a dark and dangerous time for our country. Our politics is full of hate, and it is spilling over in how we think of and treat each other. And like any nation, we have guilt for the evil that we have done and permitted.

We have the blood of tens of millions of unborn children on our hands. How do you even begin to atone for 62 million children slain in the womb? We can only appeal to your mercy and pray for an end to the slaughter of innocents.

We have dismantled your design for marriage and sexuality and given in to a spirit of confusion over simple biological facts. We are engaged in a destructive project to do the impossible and transition people from one sex to another, and more victims will pay the price for our folly.

We have deep injustices in our criminal justice system. These work against minorities and the marginalized, resulting in many false convictions and plea deals done by the innocent to end their ordeal. In this way we have abused the poor and powerless in violation of your commands and simple justice.

We have made idols out of our possessions, out of sex, out of ourselves, out of our nation, and out of the government, and we have viciously attacked anyone who

questions our false gods. We treat them as heretics to be despised and hated.

We hate and malign our political opponents, forgetting that they too are made in your image and forgetting Jesus’ teaching that to hold another in contempt is the equivalent of murder, an attack on the image of God and thus on you.

May we as your people resist the temptation to hate, to insult, to lash out. May we love our enemies and pray for those who insult or persecute us. May we be peacemakers.

May our allegiance be first and foremost to your Kingdom of righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit. May we live by Jesus’ teachings and the values of the Kingdom as agents of reconciliation and shalom in a world that desperately needs them. May we put your priorities over party, tribe, or faction. May we seek first your Kingdom and your righteousness, working for your justice in the world. Rule over all areas of life. May we be disciple-makers in accordance with your final command to us.

May we live by the law of love—not the kind of sentimental love our culture promotes, but love that seeks the ultimate good of all persons, not their temporary satisfaction. May we love people enough to speak the truth with compassion and gentleness. May we care more about their eternal souls more than we do about what they think of us.

Politically, the issues we are facing are many and complicated, and no party stands    for the Kingdom in all areas. May we affirm and support what is good: the right to life, liberty of conscience, equal justice under law, limited government that carries out its responsibilities before you but stays out of things beyond its legitimate authority.

May we oppose what is evil: infanticide, racism, and all other -isms that denigrate     your image-bearers, abuse and injustice especially in our criminal justice system, dehumanizing rhetoric from all sides, politicized medicine that costs people their      lives. And above all, may we put our hope in you, not in the election or the defeat          of candidates or parties.

Lord, you and you alone determine the rise and fall of nations. Only your Kingdom

lasts forever. If this is the time when we will see the decline of our nation, keep us    from despair. Help us to remember that our citizenship is in Heaven from which we await our Savior, Jesus Christ our Lord. Our hope is in you, not in politicians, parties, laws, or constitutions. We commit our nation into your hands, and by your grace, we  will live in faith, hope, and love whatever happens.

We ask all this in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.

               “In this Chaos – Hold Your Peace!

It seems as if the world has gone mad. Fake news, true news, did you see this video, I got this article from so and so in Messenger, Twitter just banned Trump, Amazon Web Services is shutting down Parler, Pelosi seeks to impeach Trump with only 10 day left So and so said this, this person has the inside scoop and on and on it goes.  Chaos, confusion, and fear mongering on steroids.    I heard the Lord so clearly this morning.  Hold your peace!

He revealed three things in this video.  Click “In this Chaos – Hold Your Peace

Here is an overview.

First, Don’t Panic!

The Lord reminded me of the Red Sea again.  The children of Israel were being delivered.  Pharaoh changed his mind and sent his army after them. The Israelites are caught between the army and the Red Sea.  The Israelites complained to Moses.  No doubt some might have called him a false prophet or others may have accused him of pride.  Moses responds saying:

Exodus 14:13-14 “And Moses said to the people, ‘Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever. The LORD will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.’”

What did God mean by hold your peace?  Don’t panic!  Guard your heart for out of it flow the issues of life.  Satan is trying to use hyper-fear to trip people up and that’s what happens when people panic.  As you listen to the video you will discover how     I learned to focus during Navy flight school.  Have you ever heard of the fog of war?  War is chaotic.  Discover how I learned to overcome those distractions.

We’ll also take a look at another place where the people were commanded to hold their peace.  That was in Isaiah 36-37.  Jerusalem was in danger of being wiped out by the Assyrians.  The king ordered the people not to answer so they “held their peace.”  Here we learn that it is so important to discover when you ought to speak.  Often the enemy will try to draw you into a trap.  It’s also important to know who is supposed to speak.  Sometimes God wants us silent so the authority can speak.

Bottom line, it takes some self discipline to put a guard on your mouth and that is one of the keys to keeping your peace.  You’ve also got to be careful what you allow in the ear gate and eye gate.

Second, be Armed with Your Spiritual Weapons.

In the short video I also unpack how the Lord revealed this through “Madea.”  That’s right, Madea!  In one of Tyler Perry’s movies a character said to Madea, “you got to hold your peace.”   The character Madea responds saying “I gots me a piece of steel.”  She was referring to her pistol which gave her peace.

God wants His people armed and ready.  In the revelatory teaching I’ll cover those spiritual weapons.

Finally, the Bible reveals there is a time when you should not hold your peace.

Isaiah 62:1  “For Zion’s sake I will not hold My peace,

And for Jerusalem’s sake I will not rest,

Until her righteousness goes forth as brightness,

And her salvation as a lamp that burns.”

Isaiah 62:6  “I have set watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem; They shall never hold their peace day or night. You who make mention of the LORD, do not keep silent”

Summary

There is a time and season for everything under the sun.  There is a time to be silent which is usually in the presence of your enemy.  One of the keys to peace is war.  If you win the war, you will have peace.  Finally, there is a time when you definitely should not hold your peace and that is usually in the presence of the Lord.

We are entering a very challenging time.  God is looking for a remnant with a spine.   A Church that displays courage.  Faith is not required when you have the promise.  Faith is required before the promise.  This is definitely a test among other things.  Where will heaven record you stood?  How will heaven record you stood?

I know I want heaven to record regarding me.  How about you?

 Hebrews 12:1-2  “Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that  was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right    hand of the throne of God.”

The Song of Moses (Deuternomy 32:1-44)

1“Give ear, O heavens, and let me speak;

         And let the earth hear the words of my mouth.

2“Let my teaching drop as the rain,

         My speech distill as the dew,

         As the droplets on the fresh grass

         And as the showers on the herb.

3“For I proclaim the name of the LORD;

         Ascribe greatness to our God!

4“The Rock! His work is perfect,

         For all His ways are just;

         A God of faithfulness and without injustice,

         Righteous and upright is He.

5“They have acted corruptly toward Him,

         They are not His children, because of their defect;

         But are a perverse and crooked generation.

6“Do you thus repay the LORD,

         O foolish and unwise people?

         Is not He your Father who has bought you?

         He has made you and established you.

7“Remember the days of old,

         Consider the years of all generations.

         Ask your father, and he will inform you,

         Your elders, and they will tell you.

8“When the Most High gave the nations their inheritance,

         When He separated the sons of man,

         He set the boundaries of the peoples

         According to the number of the sons of Israel.

9“For the LORD’S portion is His people;

         Jacob is the allotment of His inheritance.

10“He found him in a desert land,

         And in the howling waste of a wilderness;

         He encircled him, He cared for him,

         He guarded him as the pupil of His eye.

11“Like an eagle that stirs up its nest,

         That hovers over its young,

         He spread His wings and caught them,

         He carried them on His pinions.

12“The LORD alone guided him,

         And there was no foreign god with him.

13“He made him ride on the high places of the earth,

         And he ate the produce of the field;

         And He made him suck honey from the rock,

         And oil from the flinty rock,

14Curds of cows, and milk of the flock,

         With fat of lambs,

         And rams, the breed of Bashan, and goats,

         With the finest of the wheat—

         And of the blood of grapes you drank wine.

15“But Jeshurun grew fat and kicked—

         You are grown fat, thick, and sleek—

         Then he forsook God who made him,

         And scorned the Rock of his salvation.

16“They made Him jealous with strange gods;

         With abominations they provoked Him to anger.

17“They sacrificed to demons who were not God,

         To gods whom they have not known,

         New gods who came lately,

         Whom your fathers did not dread.

18“You neglected the Rock who begot you,

         And forgot the God who gave you birth.

19“The LORD saw this, and spurned them

         Because of the provocation of His sons and daughters.

20“Then He said, ‘I will hide My face from them,

         I will see what their end shall be;

         For they are a perverse generation,

         Sons in whom is no faithfulness.

21‘They have made Me jealous with what is not God;

         They have provoked Me to anger with their idols.

         So I will make them jealous with those who are not a people;

         I will provoke them to anger with a foolish nation,

22For a fire is kindled in My anger,

         And burns to the lowest part of Sheol,

         And consumes the earth with its yield,

         And sets on fire the foundations of the mountains.

23‘I will heap misfortunes on them;

         I will use My arrows on them.

24‘They will be wasted by famine, and consumed by plague

         And bitter destruction;

         And the teeth of beasts I will send upon them,

         With the venom of crawling things of the dust.

25‘Outside the sword will bereave,

         And inside terror—

         Both young man and virgin,

         The nursling with the man of gray hair.

26‘I would have said, “I will cut them to pieces,

         I will remove the memory of them from men,”

27Had I not feared the provocation by the enemy,

         That their adversaries would misjudge,

         That they would say, “Our hand is triumphant,

         And the LORD has not done all this.”’

28“For they are a nation lacking in counsel,

         And there is no understanding in them.

29“Would that they were wise, that they understood this,

         That they would discern their future!

30“How could one chase a thousand,

         And two put ten thousand to flight,

         Unless their Rock had sold them,

         And the LORD had given them up?

31“Indeed their rock is not like our Rock,

         Even our enemies themselves judge this.

32“For their vine is from the vine of Sodom,

         And from the fields of Gomorrah;

         Their grapes are grapes of poison,

         Their clusters, bitter.

33“Their wine is the venom of serpents,

         And the deadly poison of cobras.

34‘Is it not laid up in store with Me,

         Sealed up in My treasuries?

35‘Vengeance is Mine, and retribution,

         In due time their foot will slip;

         For the day of their calamity is near,

         And the impending things are hastening upon them.’

36“For the LORD will vindicate His people,

         And will have compassion on His servants,

         When He sees that their strength is gone,

         And there is none remaining, bond or free.

37“And He will say, ‘Where are their gods,

         The rock in which they sought refuge?

38‘Who ate the fat of their sacrifices,

         And drank the wine of their drink offering?

         Let them rise up and help you,

         Let them be your hiding place!

39‘See now that I, I am He,

         And there is no god besides Me;

         It is I who put to death and give life.

         I have wounded and it is I who heal,

         And there is no one who can deliver from My hand.

40‘Indeed, I lift up My hand to heaven,

         And say, as I live forever,

41If I sharpen My flashing sword,

         And My hand takes hold on justice,

         I will render vengeance on My adversaries,

         And I will repay those who hate Me.

42‘I will make My arrows drunk with blood,

         And My sword will devour flesh,

         With the blood of the slain and the captives,

         From the long-haired leaders of the enemy.’

43“Rejoice, O nations, with His people;

         For He will avenge the blood of His servants,

         And will render vengeance on His adversaries,

         And will atone for His land and His people.”

      44Then Moses came and spoke all the words of this song in the hearing of the people, he, with Joshua the son of Nun. 45When Moses had finished speaking all these words to all Israel, 46he said to them, “Take to your heart all the words with which I am warning you today, which you shall command your sons to observe carefully, even all the words of this law. 47“For it is not an idle word for you; indeed it is your life. And by this word you will prolong your days in the land, which you are about to cross the Jordan to possess.”
