CSN Sunday – Messages of Light – 12/6/2020

Dear CSN newsletter readers,

The Citizen Sentinels Network has maintained a project, originally deemed the David Project, since 2018. Especially, for those readers of faith, the Messages of Light originated as a genuine inspiration from Heavenly Father. It was initiated to bring Light into the dark in this time. At this time in the world, there is clear and present danger that requires the faithful to hold boldly and securely onto the foundations that are rooted in faith.

If you consider the messages in our Sunday edition relevant or meaningful and know others who might value them as well, consider yourself a Light mail messenger and please pass this newsletter on to those whom you feel could welcome it. Or, simply please receive it yourselves.

“Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden?’”

The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, but God did say, ‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.’ ”

“You will not certainly die,” the serpent said to the woman. “For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”

When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it. Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves.

Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the Lord God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the Lord God among the trees of the garden. But the Lord God called to the man, “Where are you?”

He answered, “I heard you in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid.”

And he said, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree that I commanded you not to eat from?”

The man said, “The woman you put here with me—she gave me some fruit from the tree, and       I ate it.”

Then the Lord God said to the woman, “What is this you have done?”

The woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.”   Genesis 3:1-13

Lighthouse Baptist Church | The Fall of Man

In November, I had a very vivid dream, and in one aspect of his dream, I was in a dense jungle, but I had the realization that I was in the Garden of Eden. I did not see another human, nor did I notice anything unusual about this jungle as opposed to the Oriente in Ecuador. But, I was totally amazed by how alive everything around me seemed — the vivid plants and trees, the various noises of the insects and the happy chirping of the birds. But, this idyllic environment came to a halt with words that I “heard” inside of me.

Yet, inside of my mind, I heard distinctly, “All that happened here, is now happening in your time, in your world.” I was totally caught by surprise, and did not bother to look for someone who had said it, but in my shock I blurted out: “What?’ quite loudly. I may have said it aloud as I may have shocked myself partially awake. Again, the voice repeated: “All that had happened here, is now happening in your time, in your world.” I was not capable of truly discerning the source of those words, but I knew the words were from Heaven, as they penetrated into me. And, as I tried to grapple with the meaning, I focused on the temptation of Heavenly Father’s children. How had it happened?

As I began to emerge from my sleepy realm, I was seeking understanding and asking questions of the Lord God who had witnessed this tragic event. I needed to grasp the scope of the statement I had received. If the same thing was happening in our time, how was that happening? But, I was trying to remember what I knew about the Fall. I knew that Lucifer, the Ancient Serpent had tempted Eve, and she disobeyed God’s command not to eat of the forbidden fruit. And then, Eve tempted Adam, and he disobeyed God’s command. I remembered  that their actions took place based upon the words of Lucifer.

When I was more fully awake, I had a deep sense of dread because I felt that the “all” that had taken place in the Garden was primarily referencing the Fall of Man. I grabbed a Study Bible and looked up the passage that is quoted above. As I read the passage, I realized that their actions took place based upon the words of Lucifer, not God’s words. Lucifer’s words contained deceit. The parallel between then and now in my mind was in America today, citizens are also faced with words of deception from multiple sources. I thought that we are bombarded with words and persuasion from all around.  In prayer, I sensed that it was about receiving, trusting in and obeying God’s words.

This dream and my subsequent prayers because of it caused me to write the article I submitted to readers last Thursday. The dream had a very profound effect upon me, and it has also prompted me to write the article in today’s Messages of Light. In looking at the world we live in today, it actually is quite simple if one honestly considers a realistic dichotomy. Everyone, without exception, either receives God’s word, or they do not. All  those who receive God’s word, either truly trust it, or they do not, or they trust some of it to some degree, or sometimes, and sometimes, not. All those who receive God’s word, are either truly obedient to it, or they are not, or they obey some of it to some degree, or sometimes they obey, and sometimes, they do not obey. I know this by simple, sincere observation and by personal experience.

For most people of faith there is a battle within them to receive, trust, and obey God’s words or His commands. Eve and Adam understood God’s words because they had both received those words in the Garden. So have we received them — His people, who are called by His name…  Eve and Adam for a time trusted God’s words. But, there came a time, when they questioned His words — His command. Do we in our time? Do we know the word; yet, do we completely trust what He asks of us? Do we completely obey based upon that trust? This touches upon the subject of my article today. Be aware it is lengthy.

Today we also have one article in our “Recommended Reading” section. It is an article  from Newmax from Judge Andrew Napolitano on our first Freedom: the freedom of religion.

We also have six videos for this Sunday, and since we are still marching forward in the midst of a dramatic battle over the soul of America, we are again offering the version of “The Battle Hymn Of The Republic” from Donald J. Trump’s Pre-Inauguration on January 19, 2017.

The second video is a live concert selection of “My Country, ‘Tis of Thee” from The United States Air Force Academy Band with the Colorado Springs Chorale.

The third video is one from Dutch Sheets Ministries that recaps the recent “Operation Valkyrie” daily prayer with inspired and spontaneous prayer efforts in all fifty states.

The fourth video is from Crossroads (an Epoch Times production) featuring an interview Joshua Philipp: Rev. Perry Gauthier – “Holding Faith in Trying Times.”

The fifth video is also a live concert selection from Michael W. Smith: “Let It Rain & Healing Rain.”

The final video is one which features Pastor Earl Wallace, which was also provided in our CSN news edition on Tuesday, December 1st. In case readers missed it then, the video was an interview of Pastor Wallace who appeared on John Michael Chamber’s show, “Making Sense of the Madness.” The video features two interviews, and if one wants to skip to Pastor Wallace’s segment it comes up just before the 27 minute mark in this video.

These words are being freely offered and are being sent to you as part of the “David Project.” Please receive this message as a gift from those who care. They are only words that are being offered, freely, but some contain a deep message of faith, or a deeper expression of heart that readers can hopefully receive into their hearts. As it was written: “Where there is no vision,  the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.”    Proverbs 29:18 – KJV

May we humble ourselves, seek His face, seek His Wisdom, seek His Mercy – His redeeming love, and turn from wickedness – even if it may involve us crushing our own egos in order to receive, honor, and truly practice His Word in our daily lives. In doing so, we advance His Kingdom within ourselves and from ourselves.

“Repentance and Returning to Honor and Practice His Word”

In America after the 2020 election, all Christians need to truly look in the mirror and seek the divine reflection of God within them. If they cannot see the reflection of God in them, something is quite wrong, and we can know this by looking at our nation. America is currently broken, it is a divided, not a ‘United’ States of America. The nation definitely needs healing, and it is more than self-evident that a majority of those who call themselves Christians no longer hold onto the deep  truths that our forefathers would die to preserve. How many Christians, or people of faith (those who are called by His name) feel they have a responsibility in how our nation got to this point?  It may be likely that some do, some do not,  and some do not really care, and it is possible that some would regard such a consideration as irrelevant. However it is considered by God as He seems to have always held His children responsible for their actions or their inactions as in ignoring His Will. Look what happened in the Garden of Eden. Did He not hold His children accountable?

There are Christian leaders and those who identify as Christians that have serious trouble in holding themselves accountable for their anti-godly, or even criminal actions. For instance, the 10 Commandments are rules or “guidelines” pointing to spiritual laws, much like we consider gravity a law. If people ignore or attempt to defy the law of gravity, serious consequences follow. In the biblical story of the Fall of Man, there is no list of “10 Commands.” However, there was a single prohibition, like a parent could give to a child. This story in the third book of Genesis, holds great meaning for Christians today, as many even consider the 10 Commandments irrelevant. Could there be a correlation between following the 10 Commandments and the laws established within the secular realm?

On the other hand, there are Christian leaders and those who identify as Christians that have no trouble holding other people accountable for their criminal or anti-godly actions. Their fingers are able to wag at anyone other than themselves. My mother, a good Christian, always told me that when I would point an accusatory finger at someone, there are always three pointing back at me. Is that not what happened in the Garden? Once questioning in God’s word occurred, then distrust followed, and then a rejection of God’s word ensued, and finally active rebellion against what God had forbidden created a spiralling effect of one sin after another. One of the horrible consequences of Eve’s and Adam’s rebellion was the first murder in human history. That is why murder was a further prohibiton listed in the 10 Commandments.

While the account of the Fall of Man is somewhat mysterious with a talking serpent and a deadly fruit (translated into an apple — what translation was that by the way?), this story has relevance for our world in 2020. In their time, Adam and Eve and God had a direct relationship because there was dialogue that took place between them and communication channels were open. The prohibition to not eat a certain fruit was given, but there was still freedom for God’s children to do whatever they ultimately ended up doing, otherwise history would have turned out much differently. So, in examining the exchange between Lucifer and Eve, the Ancient Serpent asks Eve a question about what God’s Word really prohibited. Did he ask this to get an answer? No, Lucifer knew God’s Word as he was helping educate Adam and Eve.

Lucifer not only asked Eve a question to see how well she knew God’s word, but also to plant seeds of doubt or confusion about what God actually had said. His question laid the foundation for Eve to question God’s word. Have Christians in 2020 not questioned God’s Word from the prophets who have shared His Word? Actually, some prophets’ words may need to be questioned, but the questioning exists, and it is not just God’s prophets people are questioning. Yet, questioning is a double-edged sword. As Eve has demonstrated, questioning God’s Word can be disastrous. Are Christians exempt from disaster? In reading some of the recent headlines, intelligent people can find an answer.  The first step away from God in the Garden came through questioning His Word, and it is so in this time in our world.

Today in America, there are many Christians who have also questioned, challenged, and rebelled against His words and fallen away from God. What words? This may be    a bit confusing if God’s booming voice has not been heard lately over the cities in America. People of the Judeo-Christian heritage, the heritage that enabled the creation of the United States, usually believe in the words of the Old and New Testament, and whichever translation they use. So, for those who read the Holy Bible, they would know God’s words. But, who actually does that today? I would venture to guess that more people read the Bible than go to church — especially now, within the COVID realm. The simple point is that the people who read the Bible would at least know God’s word – like Adam and Eve. They may not fully grasp it all, but they would recognize the words from the Bible, considered God’s Word.

People who have no real heritage often have no tradition or any education that guides them to read the Bible or other holy scriptures; so, they would have difficulty reversing the social gravity that provides no encouragement to read the Bible. They would likely face the social gravity, or peer pressure, that would even discourage reading the Good Book. It is more than likely that within America now, those that do not read the Bible outnumber those that do. It is not a negative factor in and of itself; however, when those that know God’s word choose to listen and obey those that do not know God’s word, it is an overt demonstration of doubt and serious questioning of God’s word.

On the other hand, people who pray to God, and who actually listen to His responses to their prayers, would also know God’s personal word to them. While many people of faith pray, it’s possible that many do not actually listen for His response. This would require a deeper faith that one not only can talk to God, but that He listens to His children and will provide replies. It is unfortunate that people who claim to have faith do not have the faith that God will listen to them, so they may not have a genuine dialogue with Him.

Since Jesus taught us to pray, and taught us many deep truths, it should have become clear that our relationship with God is as a child in relation to a parent. Jesus lived that relationship and modeled it for all of us who call ourselves Christians. He helped to re-establish that genuine communication with God.

“Truly, truly, I tell you, whoever believes in Me will also do the works that I am doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in My name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask Me for anything in My name, I will do it.…”         John 14:12-14

So, here is a key to relating to what went wrong in the Garden and what happened when Jesus came. Although Adam and Eve were without sin before the rejection of God’s words, they still rejected the prohibition and ultimately rejected God. They all knew God’s word. Even the serpent knew God’s word.

“Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden?’”

The purpose of the Ancient Serpent posing questions to Eve was to check to see if there was any question or confusion in her. It is also a possibility that in first questioning Eve, Lucifer was planting seeds of reasonable doubt within his pupil to stimulate her own questioning of God’s words. However, Lucifer’s instruction that followed contained deceit. It was the lie that tempted Eve to reject and rebel against God’s Word.

“You will not certainly die,” the serpent said to the woman. “For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”

In a similar way, Lucifer used his knowledge of God’s word in his temptation of Jesus. However, Jesus knew the implications of the truth, not just the words. Jesus used God’s Words to teach Satan that he could not shake the son’s relationship with the Father and that he would not deviate from following or obeying God’s Will. Knowing is not enough. It is in the doing, not the knowing because Eve and Adam were sinless before they fell away from God. They knew God’s Word, yet still disobeyed. Is this not the plague of our planet today?

Knowing is not enough, as Jesus said plainly: “…whoever believes in Me will also do the works that I am doing. He will do even greater things than these…” It is in the doing, not the knowing, of God’s word that we can abide in Jesus. Our humility and true search for God’s presence in our lives, rather than “hiding” from God because of our sin, is the same as seeking His face. But, genuine prayer of repentance for not being fully proactive in doing His Will is necessary in this time. And, repentance includes turning from ignoring God’s Word when it suits us. It means we need to heed God’s Word in the Holy Bible and to listen to God and do what He asks of us. It has been that way from the beginning — from the days of the Garden.

In 2020, our nation is divided and questioning God’s Will because a large portion of the population does not even know His word, let alone His Will. “Did God really say, ‘Thou shall not steal?’” “Did God really say, ‘Thou shall not murder?’” Another problem today is that the people who know God’s word are paying more attention to those who have no clue of God’s word, or paying more attention to those who hate God. Listening more to the mainstream media, or the politicians, or those shrill voices from the entertainment industry is comparable to listening to Lucifer. It is the same now as it was in the Garden. Those who know God’s words, are continually tempted by some who do not know God’s words, or by those who know them, but care more for themselves than other people. People of faith who love this country absolutely need to honor God’s Word, no longer ignore it, and practice it. Such genuine efforts will help tremendously to heal our land.
