CSN Sunday – Messages of Light  – 3/7/2021

Dear CSN newsletter readers,

The Citizen Sentinels Network has maintained a project, originally deemed the David Project, since 2018. For those readers of faith, the Messages of Light originated as a genuine inspiration from our Heavenly Father. It was initiated to bring Light into the dark in this time. And especially at such a time as this in our nation and in the world, there is clear and present danger requiring the faithful to hold boldly and securely onto the foundations that are rooted in faith.

If you consider the messages in our Sunday edition relevant or meaningful and know others who might value them as well, consider yourself a Light mail messenger and please pass this newsletter on to those whom you feel could welcome it. Or simply, please receive it yourselves.

“Imprint these words of mine on your hearts and minds, bind them as a sign on your hands, and let them be a symbol on your foreheads. Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit in your house and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates, so that as long as the heavens are above the earth, your days and those of your children may be many in the land the Lord swore to give your fathers. For if you carefully observe every one of these commands I am giving you to follow—to love the Lord your God, walk in all His ways, and remain faithful to Him— the Lord will drive out all these nations before you, and you will drive out nations greater and stronger than you are. Every place the sole of your foot treads will be yours. Your territory will extend from the wilderness to Lebanon and from the Euphrates River to the Mediterranean Sea. No one will be able to stand against you; the Lord your God will put fear and dread of you in all the land where you set foot, as He has promised you.

A Blessing and a Curse

“Look, today I set before you a blessing and a curse: there will be a blessing, if you obey the commands of the Lord your God I am giving you today, and a curse, if you do not obey the commands of the Lord your God and you turn aside from the path I command you today by following other gods you have not known.” Deuteronomy 1-18-28

Be Ye Therefore Perfect?

“If you love me, keep my commands. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever— the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for   he lives with you and will be in you. I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.  Before long, the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live. On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and    I am in you. Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself  to them.” John 14:15-21 (NIV)

On Wednesday, March 3rd, I received a cell phone call from a friend in our vast network of contacts, and he shared the tragic news that one of our writers, whom we mutually know, had escaped with her life from a devastating fire that took the lives of two dear people who had been living in the service of God and many people in their local area and around the world. Needless to say, it was a shock that made me stop and humbly pray for the souls consumed by the fire. I found it incredibly ironic that in the age of COVID, when so many older people are falling victim to the disease, that two wonderful, selfless seniors, servants of Christ, had their lives swept away in a horrendous house fire.

The reason I bring this up is because I knew the couple who perished — not well — but well enough to know they were my sister and brother in Christ. I met them this past year on my cross-country journey to D.C. and back. It was my privilege to meet them and I was genuinely moved by both of them as individuals, and as a couple who allowed Heavenly Father to shine through them. It is the world’s loss and Heaven’s gain. Nevertheless, such sudden news of any person losing their lives in such tragic circumstances is not easy to digest well. In our Thursday CSN newsletter, I asked that prayers be offered by those who offer sincere prayers for one of our writers, A. Dru Kristenev, who managed to escape with her own life. The couple’s adult son also survived the tragedy.

Kristenev, who has a healing ministry, left Idaho a number of years ago to help her friends in their home in Mississippi. Please pray for the souls of Anne Marie Fairchild and Steve Rogers, the married couple who perished. Steve was a paraplegic man and Anne Marie needed help with his care. Please pray for Ms. Kristenev as she is very far away from her home. Amidst the tremendous loss of her dear friends, she has to scramble to find another place to live at this time. Despite such adversity, Kristenev has written an article to honor the memory of her friends, and we are including it in today’s Message of Light.

I wrote on Thursday in reference to the passing of the great Rush Limbaugh who recently lost his battle with lung cancer. And, I mentioned that as we travel further into 2021, there are many serious heartaches and setbacks that seem to be unfolding in our pathways. Yet, through all of these challenges, God’s children need to keep their eyes on Heavenly Father, and their hearts entwined with His, and their wills aligned with His Will. Our second message in this edition is one from Dr. Robert Owens, who tackles the issue of Free Will and reminds us that we have the ability to choose, no matter what. However, our choices have lasting consequences.

We also have several videos today, in addition to these two sincere messages. We feature a couple of videos to honor the lives of all those who have passed away in recent years. Other videos are from Dutch Sheets on his own program, as well as another is from Jan Markell with an interview of Dr. Erwin Lutzer and Chad Thomas. We also feature a couple of videos dealing with prophecy or perspective on the current political reality within our nation just now. And, to get more specific, we offer a number of articles from “Around the Republic.”

These words and images are being freely offered and are being sent to you as part of the David Project’s “Messages of Light.” Please receive today’s messages as a gift from those who care. They are only words that are being offered, freely, but some contain a deep message of faith, or a deeper expression of heart that readers can hopefully receive into their lives. As it was written: “Where there is no vision,  the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.”    Proverbs 29:18 – KJV

May we humble ourselves, seek His face, repent, and turn from wickedness – and choose to walk in the light, not in the darkness. And, to allow Heavenly Father to shine before us and His word be a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our paths, and in the words of a song from below, to ‘Be the Light.”

                                       “The Paradox of Free Will”

                                      By Dr. Robert R. Owens

                                                   March 3, 2021

How can we possibly believe in free will since Christians believe in His Omniscience God knows everything we’ll do in advance and we also believe He has a plan for our lives before we’re born?  So where is the free will?

God has perfect foreknowledge.  This means He knows the end from the beginning and thus He knows what everyone will do in the future and what any individual will do in any given situation. God has a complete plan for everyone’s life.  He knew how He wanted the universe to end before He created it and so He had a plan for every action needed to reach that end before the foundation of the world.

If God wants a particular thing to happen, He knows who will choose to do it, when they will choose to do it, and under what circumstances they will choose to do it.  However, just because God already knows what choices we will make this in no way removes our free will.

You see God is outside our space time continuum.  He is ever always in the now of eternity.   And in this bubble, we call reality we are the ones making the choices.

One example might be to think about our own foreknowledge of History.  We know how World War One ends.  If we could go back in time to July of 1914 the fact that we already know how the War will end would not force anyone to do anything.  Our knowing that the assassination of the heir to the throne of Austria would knock over the first domino ending only with the Treaty of Versailles wouldn’t stop Gavrilo Princip from shooting Archduke Franz Ferdinand.

God created us with free choice.  That’s why He told Adam and Eve not to eat of the fruit of the trees in the center of the garden.  He told them not to do it, but He wouldn’t have said “Don’t do it,” if they couldn’t do it if they chose to.  Free choice means not only that we can choose to ignore God’s commands it also means we can freely choose to confess with our lips that Jesus is Lord and believe in our hearts that God has raised Him from the dead and so be saved.

It all hinges on free choice.  God is looking for children who choose to love and follow Him, not robots who have no choice.

God’s knowing what we will freely choose doesn’t mean that we are in any way forced to make that choice.  You can choose to believe this or not.

Legacy of Harmony: Steve and Ann Marie Fairchild Rogers

“Legacy of Harmony”                                                                  … By A. Dru Kristenev                                                                               .          3/6/21

This is a tribute to my dear friends who perished a few days ago. I hope not to sully their sweet yet formidable legacy with the woes of the world, though we discussed them often. That will be left for a later time.

As much as we know the realities of this world, that our lives are a vapor in the expanse of time, unexpected deaths of friends always come as a shock, especially if we are witness to the tragedy. From such a circumstance is this being penned.

Fire. We may dread tornados, earthquakes, hurricanes and other natural disasters, but the instant spread of unbearable heat and unquenchable flame carries a fear that no one ever wants to stand face-to-face unprepared.

Preparation, however, comes in two different ways – the natural by having fire extinguishers, an escape plan and maybe even protective gear; and the spirit-led, knowing that whatever may occur, the ability to confront a crisis with an inward solemnity and grace is ingrained.

My friends, family in the measure of deep ties in the Lord, were prepared in the second manner by understanding who they were in Christ and how fleeting is their natural existence in comparison to their eternal one.

Steve and Ann Marie Fairchild Rogers, were (I keep wanting to say ‘are’ and, in the way life everlasting it is true) two of the most giving, amazing individuals who were heavenly operatives in an earthly plane. Bound together by music composed for God’s glory, two more integrated lives one may never meet.

Each of them had a lifetime of evangelism through song. Steve as a guiding member of The Messengers, a contemporary gospel group that included his sister and wife in the 1980s, touring the South through original songs in venues of every size. He served as youth minister for many years but after being confined to a wheelchair following surgery that went awry more than a decade ago, Steve continued to minister to those challenged by life’s major setbacks, physical and emotional. He had a wellspring of experience and faith from which to draw.

Ann Marie Fairchild, with whom an unfailing friendship grew from her mentorship when I entered the Kingdom through salvation, had a blue ribbon ministry of 50 years teaching children and adults through puppetry, song and even clowning. Though I knew she had participated in crusades in the 1970s and 80s, working with individuals like Dale Evans (I had compiled and written her biography for her website in 2010), she never let on about those who had advised her during those years of international touring as an evangelist and ventriloquist until nearly the 20th year of our sisterhood. Drs. Adrian Rodgers and Charles Stanley had been two who personally guided her as she developed a vast collection of children’s Bible studies that still provide core teachings for ministries in India and elsewhere. Many of Ann Marie’s videos (she was a videographer/documentarian/film producer, too) are yet making the rounds with children three and four generations down the line.

For both, it’s their original music compositions that continue to find place in the bosom of family, friends and thousands of people, who have encountered their spirit-led songs that build faith, share hope, teach God’s Word and always resonate with the joy that flowed unhindered from their hearts.

It is the water of the Word that overcame the flames of an earthly fire that took their lives with billowing black smoke. Knowing them so well – and I’ll not be the only one to testify to this – we’ll believe they were praising God with their last breath… The last breath on earth that is followed by the first in Heaven. That is what Ann Marie shared many times, understanding how God’s grace for our natural existence gives over to the Glory of an eternity in His house.

This is far too brief to divulge the depth of Steve and Ann Marie’s accomplishments and how strongly their testimonies and teachings have touched, and are yet to touch, numberless lives, because their legacy lives on through their songs.

Before this is wound up, there is something more to be learned from this couple whose lifetime devotion to Christ was evidenced every day, His grace abiding in them and manifesting through them…

For those of us whose marriages have been something of a bust, it’s important to know that the best pairings are fully grounded in the love of God first and foremost. By receiving His love and allowing it to dwell within us, love for one another can experience a vital fulfilment the worldly misses.

This is why there is marriage of three, not just two, and the third dominant party is not the state, which place it has improperly been inserted, but Jesus. He’s the cement, the element that binds two spirits in harmony. And harmony is the most fitting word for Ann Marie and Steve. Their lives were imbued with the harmony of song, voices often intertwined with the joy of knowing the Lord who gave them guidance for each day and peace for accomplishing His will.

Harmony with the Lord is what they prayed for all of us.
