Nancy Pelosi: “I have my power and I want yours too.”
written by Karen Hagestad Cacy
Power was carefully put in its proper place by our founders when they drafted the Constitution. The first Americans knew and acknowledged human nature. To wit, that men or women can be greedy, power-hungry bullies. If but given half the chance.
Accordingly, those founders set up a system of checks and balances so that no one group or individual with even a modicum of power could ride rough-shod over others. They purposely designed law-making to make it difficult to limit citizen freedoms.
Our country was meant to elevate the individual man, not to put him in chains under the heel of an intrusive government.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is a woman who wields a mean gavel … who marinates in leadership power. She is among the Washington elites who want more. Legally or illegally, it doesn’t matter. She demands to see the unredacted entirety of the Mueller Report, regardless of who may be harmed by exposure.
It is wanting-more that has this woman-of-a-certain age ignoring the rule of law.
She wants to see names and read those sections dictated by law as having executive privilege or containing national security information. Never mind the privacy accorded to Americans by long-standing legal tradition to not tar unindicted individuals by public exposure and innuendo. She, who will not be denied, wants it all, and she wants it now.
Does anyone recall the impudence of the Speaker when she disinvited and, in fact, ‘dished,’ her president from delivering the State of the Union address on time? Or, when she finally deigned to allow the President’s entry, how Her Highness theatrically leaned forward to clap disrespectfully in the face of the leader of the free world, America’s president?
Attorney General William Barr rocks Nancy’s world
And this week, as Attorney General William Barr sat with his deputy Rod Rosenstein and the investigation’s author, Robert Mueller, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi slammed the Attorney General’s four-page letter on Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation as “condescending” and demanded immediately to see the entire report.
“No thank you, Mr. Attorney General,” Pelosi said. “We do not need your interpretation.”
Pelosi called Barr’s decision to write the letter “arrogant.” Congress, she says, doesn’t need him “to be our interpreter of something that he should just show us.” The sooner they can give us the information, the sooner we can all make a judgment about it,” she says.
The woman will not be denied. The queen has spoken.
Yet, criminal accusation stigmatizes. Does not “fair lady” understand that merely being accused of a crime lasts in the public eye, damages reputations and threatens current and future employment, personal relationships, social status, and more?
Is it possible that the powerful Speaker does not know the very Constitution she promised to uphold? Does she not wish to uphold the Fourth Amendment wherein the right to privacy refers to the concept that one’s personal information is protected from public scrutiny?
The right, as U.S. Justice Louis Brandeis called it, “to be left alone.”
Indeed, her own daughter, Alexandra, posted a tweet about her mother: “She’ll cut your head off, and you won’t even know you’re bleeding.”
Pelosi is not America’s first choice.
A poll held prior to Pelosi’s retaking the speakership found that three-quarters of Americans wanted her replaced. The surprising thing about that survey was that it included half of Democrats who wanted her gone.
By demanding the full four hundred pages of the Mueller Report, in which no one was charged with a crime, Pelosi is placing her own ego and power above the laws of the United States of America. For those who were drawn into the investigation, why on earth, should innocents have their names dragged through the mud?
Even the revealing of a name might tempt someone like the Speaker to continue maligning them and their families. Why would she do such a thing? To wield her power for all to see? If a few innocents are harmed (by harmed, we’re talking humongous lawyers’ fees, loss of homes, loss of family security, loss of reputation,) so the hell what?
And even as Pelosi continues to disregard the separation of powers, the reported results of the report so far highlight what the investigation was about from the beginning: Nothing.
There was no crime, only a Democrat coup d’etat to prevent Donald J. Trump from becoming president
The Democrat play was to bring Donald Trump down in some kind of a third world coup d’etat if he did win. To create the infamous Strzok insurance policy. Now, the goal is to drive the president’s poll numbers down so low that he will not win re-election.
One thing is clear from the Mueller report. America’s security community under President Obama became a weapon aimed at Donald Trump. What else can we call spying on political opponents, making up salacious lies, and ruining the lives of anyone who dares to be close to “the target?”
Prior to the election, the Obama crew already were testing their methods of ruination.
Remember Lois Lerner, now free on a hefty retirement. Lerner who sent a swat team to a woman’s door in a pre-dawn scare raid because she was a Tea Party member? (How the IRS Targeted Tea Party Groups for Abuse)
Or later when Obama’s Attorney General Loretta Lynch met for a half hour with the husband of the accused Hillary Clinton ostensibly to discuss golf and babies.
Temperatures were reportedly running near 120 degrees in Phoenix that week, making golf an unbelievable subject to begin with.
The investigation has unearthed evidence that the Obama Administration’s weaponization of political views was positioned at the highest levels of the secret services, CIA, NSA, FBI, and Justice Department. We have met President Obama’s holdovers, Struck, Brennon, Comey, Rosenstein, Page, Yates, and the rest through their own emails and phone records. And, yes, there is proof of their malevolence.
But still Democrats fight on.
Find them the man and they will find you a crime. And these searchers have subpoenas, heavy guns, and surveillance to assist them. No ordinary adversaries are these senior security people who’ve gone off the rails to attack their fellow Americans with made-up crimes. Pelosi’s chief partner in crime, the United States Minority Leader from New York, Senator Charles Schumer, famously warned the president at the beginning of his party’s witch hunt,
The Mueller Report, with which the Democrat’s hope to bring down a president and his associates, has instead provided a grim truth: The Obama Administration did weaponize our intelligence services against private citizens, a presidential candidate and finally the President of the United States.
As in some two-bit banana republic, there was a coup attempt right here among Democrat members of Congress, led by Pelosi and Schumer, Schiff, Nadler and the rest, along with their leftist mainstream media, who now are caught red-handed (pun intended,) with their hands in the proverbial cookie jar. For them to continue making untoward demands in the light of today’s knowledge of their misbehaviors would be laughable if it were not so sad and disgusting.
The Pelosi witch-hunters continue to want the president out. They continue to disregard the separation of powers that were so carefully and faithfully drawn by our founders. And, not the least of it, they care not a whit about whom they harm in the process.
None dare call it treason.
But that’s what it is: a mean-spirited, evil turn of events by Pelosi and company. President George Washington must be crying as President Donald Trump attempts to right the ship of state. The truth is now out. Democrats led by Speaker Pelosi and Minority Leader Schumer might want to consider taking a step back out of the limelight.
Because there may be an accounting coming. A well-deserved accounting.
