Reagan’s ‘Shining City’ Proves Elusive to Elitist GOP Leaders

By Dennis Jamison ——-     February 5, 2021

At the end of January, the Boston Herald posted an article from John Stimpson that trashed the “Retrumplicans” and proclaimed that Republicans needed to return to a more pure vision of the former hero of the conservative arm of the GOP, Ronald Reagan. He emphatically stated that “Retrumplicans” in the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives are as much to blame as Trump is for America’s moral decline over the past four years.”

Elitist-Establishment GOP has indeed lost control of their Party to the “Retrumplicans”

That is quite a mouthful to swallow, and one can quickly ascertain why the Left-entrenched Boston Herald would post an article from a “conservative Republican.” For those paying attention in these past few weeks, there seems to be a concerted effort on the part of the Establishment GOP, or Elitist GOP, to regain control of their political party. This piece by Stimpson fits into such an attempt.

This is quite understandable as the Elitist-Establishment GOP has indeed lost control of their Party to the “Retrumplicans.” Mr. Stimpson’s use of the term seems to be merely his polite way of renaming Hillary’s “Deplorables.” One does wonder what the Elitist-Establishment GOP calls such Trump supporters behind closed doors. Maybe, that is a job for Project Veritas to expose. However, the real irony of Stimpson’s primary position of the “Retrumplicans” in the House and Senate being to blame as much as President Trump is for America’s “moral decline” is that the truth is that it is the truth, but not in the way in which Stimpson may have originally meant it. However, putting it in perspective from an entirely different angle, spineless GOP leadership, disconnected from the founding values, have essentially “played along” with President Trump until they had a chance to get rid of him. Unfortunately, in 2020 Trump was running against both the Democrat Party and Elitist- Establishment Republican leadership.

Patriots who still believe in Trump are appalled by what the Elitist-Establishment GOP leadership allowed to happen—even losing the presidency to what may eventually prove to be a Communist controlled puppet. Such an atrocious and flagrant betrayal essentially translates into a betrayal of the rank and file “Retrumplicans” who supported Donald Trump and who voted for him in 2020. Mr. Stimpson’s term evokes a definite sentiment and speaks volumes. Recent GOP “social distancing” efforts from Trump and his supporters sends a loud and unmistakable message to such patriots. That is why there has been stimulating talk of creating an alternative political party to the GOP and the Democrat Elitist-Establishment.

Ted Cruz’s recent toxic social distancing comments slamming President Trump

Ted Cruz’s recent toxic social distancing comments slamming President Trump, or current GOP Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel’s public apology for ‘permitting’ Rudy Giuliani to fight for fair and honest elections with “pretend” evidence of the fraud. The GOP has actually learned a great deal from their Democrat counterparts in spewing their own propaganda. But, they are not as effective as the Criminal Political Cabal that was determined to get rid of Trump. The more this GOP “social distancing” propaganda is spewed, the more true colors are illuminated in broad daylight. It is quite amazing that President Trump accomplished as much as he did with so many obstacles in his way.

The GOP is currently engaged in a concerted attempt to break the “Deplorables” of their love for a man who was willing to step out of his incredible comfort zone to risk so much for the sake of “We the People.” It is highly likely that the Elitist-Establishment GOP despise the reality that for four years Trump showed Americans what could be done if political party excuses and “red tape” were not tolerated, what could be done when one is not controlled by an ancient well-established hierarchy of a deeply entrenched political class. It is Deja Vu all over again with a continuation of a political aristocracy that is replicating what the Founding Fathers resisted and ultimately took drastic action against: “…with a firm Reliance on the Protection of divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor.”

Reagan’s Revolution was destroyed the day the elder Bush became POTUS

Republican leaders of this day do not bear much resemblance to such men of genuine courage and resolution. John Stimpson, for instance, worked previously as the aide to William Weld, a former governor of Massachusetts (1991-1997), and wrote as recently as 2019 that Weld was the best candidate to challenge Donald Trump in the 2020 GOP primary. Such support reveals true colors, while both seem to be of the political class of aristocratic, entrenched Republicans. They, like other Never Trumpers, could not stand such an upstart outsider to come into office and demonstrate how “business as usual” within the political realm could proceed despite incredible opposition. Trump likely saw through the politics of “churning legislation,” being similar to attorneys “churning litigation.” In either case, the real losers are the ones who trust “experts” who claim they can help, all the while dragging out the process for their own benefit.

“Establishment Republicans” like Stimpson would like “true” Republicans to hearken back to the days of Ronald Reagan and his “shining city.” The real problem is that Republican “leaders” of today bear little resemblance to the Founders, and do not bear much likeness to Reagan either. The Never Trumper contingent would want constituents to believe they truly supported Reagan in his heyday. The truth is that Reagan’s Revolution was threatened by the elitist, establishment Republicans from the moment they insisted on George H.W. Bush as Vice President. Reagan’s Revolution was destroyed the day the elder Bush became POTUS.

Reagan’s birth date is February 6, 1911, and in honor of a great president, it is important to recall his own triumph over the “establishment Republicans” of his day. However, it may be more critical to offer his words of deeper meaning he shared before he became POTUS. He made a serious prophecy when he spoke on October 27, 1964, at the height of the presidential campaign that year. Reagan stressed his own ideological convictions in his speech, “A Time for Choosing,” or simply known as “The Speech.” In this famed address, he predicted:

Ronald Reagan: “A Time for Choosing”

The Founding Fathers knew a government can’t control the economy without controlling people. And they knew when a government sets out to do that, it must use force and coercion to achieve its purpose. So we have come to a time for choosing… You and I are told we must choose between a left or right, but I suggest there is no such thing as a left or right. There is only an up or down. Up to man’s age-old dream – the maximum of individual freedom consistent with order – or down to the ant heap of totalitarianism.

His words ring true today. The 2020 election was a blatant step in the direction of that ant heap. Obvious efforts are being made to manipulate and control “We the People.” Pay attention to those who are pretending that corruption, fraud, and manipulation of vote tallies did not happen. Those who do are complicit with the crime, or the coverup of the crime. Criminals are criminals.
