The Bill of Rights: Still Worth the Fight!

The Bill of Rights: Still Worth the Fight!

By Dennis JamisonDecember 17, 2019

POTUS is essentially sworn to defend the government of the people, by the people, and for the people. Yet, who is fighting for him? Where are the people of principle in this day?

On December 9th this year, while the Democrat leaders were readying their artificial articles of impeachment for President Donald Trump, the POTUS was issuing a serious proclamation for human rights and Bill of Rights Day, which fell on December 15th this year. An article submitted to Canada Free Press on December 11th, expressed my view of the one-sided, partisan-driven “impeachment” effort, which is at its heart a politically motivated, selfish-centric, criminally-inspired coup d’état against our beloved Republic.

“Democratic” Party is party power before the people

In this past week, Americans who are paying attention could witness the intentions of the POTUS in action in his efforts to promote human rights—not just in the United States, but throughout the world. In this past week, Americans who are paying attention could witness the intentions of Democrat leaders partisan-driven “impeachment” effort. The clear message from the “Democratic” Party is party power before the people. And, no doubt their socialist inflamed, Marxist mantra would spew forth the self-deception that “the ends justify the means.”

The mainstream media is complicit to these ends – perhaps more accountable are the media moguls who pull the strings of their parrot-like puppets. With another clear vision of reality provided by the alternative media and independent media outlets, the truth is being slowly revealed. This was practically guaranteed by Adam Schiff when he initiated the impeachment proceedings and stated that the American people would be able to determine for themselves the motivation for initiating the impeachment proceedings.

It is outlandish that the American people are tolerating the lies of Schiff and the MSM. Schiff fabricated another lie recently when he publicly stated that he did not realize all of the “errors” made in the handling of the FISA warrant by the FBI. On FOX News, Brit Hume debunked Schiff’s claim ‘utter nonsense.’ Honestly, there is too much of an historical record to allow such false statements and utter lies to pass for truth. Citizens who have been able to wade through the MSM propaganda, may be able to see more clearly, and may be able to appreciate the truth.

Jefferson’s Declaration of Independence proclaimed the inalienable rights of Life, Liberty, and the right to Pursue Happiness

President Donald Trump is fighting this “nonsense” while at the same time he is still doing his job as POTUS. It is amazing that he has issued a presidential proclamation of regarding the Bill of Rights while under siege by the opposition party. Of course, the mainstream media did not cover the points the president made in his proclamation, which was also an acknowledgement of the U.N. Human Rights Day, but Trump made an incredible statement recalling the advice of Thomas Jefferson:

“Jefferson famously wrote to Madison: ‘A bill of rights is what the people are entitled to against every government on earth, general or particular,  and what no just government should refuse or rest on inference.’” Trump went on to explain that “In the 228 years since the adoption of the Bill of Rights, it has continuously served as the guarantor of some of our most cherished freedoms: the right to practice the religion we choose, the right to speak freely and openly, the right to privacy, and the right to keep and bear arms…

Underlying our Bill of Rights is the understanding that all human beings are endowed with certain inalienable rights and that it is the duty of every government to protect these rights.“

The Founders were clear that their own government had easily restricted their rights as British citizens, and they were no longer able to tolerate it. Jefferson’s Declaration of Independence proclaimed the inalienable rights of Life, Liberty, and the right to Pursue Happiness. Yet, Democrats give lip-service to those rights, and are incredibly weak on the source of those rights.

Trump is a genuine champion of God-given, human rights

Around the same time last year, President Trump made a similar proclamation, and in it, he expressed his own clarity about those inalienable rights, which demonstrates that Trump is a genuine champion of God-given, human rights.

Our nation was founded on the idea that our Creator endows each individual with certain unalienable rights. In the Declaration of Independence, Thomas Jefferson identified life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness as among these fundamental human rights. Our nation has enshrined these and other rights, which Americans continue to enjoy today, in the Bill of Rights.

On Bill of Rights Day, we recognize the key role of the Bill of Rights in protecting our individual liberties and limiting the power of government. The Founding Fathers understood the real threat government can pose to the rights of the people. James Madison, who introduced the Bill of Rights in the Congress, stated that the “essence of Government is power; and power, lodged as it must be, in human hands, will ever be liable to abuse.”

The abuse of power originates from the ruling “political class” of elitists from either party. While one political party seeks aggressively to undermine and eradicate the rights of the people, the other party looks on, and appears clueless, yet approving, as long as it does not impact cash flow or returns on investments. The nauseating daytime soap opera of the impeachment charade seems to have been planned out in the backroom chambers of aggressive political elitists and publicly played out in the assembly halls of Congress. Adam Schiff and Jerrold Nadler seem not only to be point men for the Democrats, they seem to be tools of RINOs as well. And the RINOs may be nothing more than Democrat-paid stooges due to their mercenary-like behavior. Where are men of principle in this age of corruption?

Americans are fortunate that he is a man of principle fighting for the Republic

Those brave and brilliant men who stood up and stood behind the words of the Declaration of Independence were willing to risk their lives for the sake of freedom—the simple freedom to enjoy their God-given rights as proclaimed in that auspicious document. The “self-evident truths” in the Declaration served as the foundation for the Bill of Rights, and the most powerful statement made referred to the inalienable rights granted by God, rights given by our Creator to His children. The words of the Declaration of Independence were not simply hollow words, and the men that stood behind their belief in those God-given rights were ready to die to hold on to those “self-evident truths.” Where are men of principle in this day?

Jefferson skillfully embedded into the core of the Declaration a manifesto for the freedom of all people. Jefferson also skillfully linked the inalienable rights, people’s God-given rights, to the Bill of Rights in the Constitution of the United States. Abraham Lincoln believed that one should not look singly at the Constitution, but one should view the Constitution through the ‘lens’ of the Declaration of Independence. Certainly, those self-evident truths in the Declaration of Independence still exist. They still serve as a powerful statement as to why freedom itself is essential.

The truths of the Declaration of Independence still summon all people of conscience to fight for the noble ideals linked to freedom. Those who still hold on to those self-evident truths need to rally behind a man of principle. Citizens immune from the psychological disorder of Trump derangement syndrome (TDS) can see that President Donald J. Trump still holds on to the values in the Declaration of Independence and the Bill of Rights. Americans are fortunate that he is a man of principle fighting for these values.

Americans are fortunate that he is a man of principle fighting for the Republic. The POTUS is sworn to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States. By logic, the POTUS is essentially sworn to defend the government of the people, by the people, and for the people. Yet, who is fighting for him? Where are the people of principle in this day? It is time for good people of conscience to fight for those self-evident truths and stop thinking they will always exist if they do nothing. All that it takes for evil to triumph is for good people to do nothing.
