THERE ARE THREE TYPES OF SOCIALIST – WHICH ONE ARE YOU?
by Sam Small 4/16/19
1 THE WIZARD
This a secretive figure of a very small group, usually very rich, that inspires others to come before the public forum. He (it’s usually a man) often has money to donate to various activities that will bring socialism closer to reality in pretty much any country. His driving force is his loathing of humankind. This he keeps firmly a secret, as it would confuse his activists. For him, socialism would control people’s bad behavior. Socialism would also legislate good behavior. His tragedy is that he knows full well the outcome of this socialist doctrine spells disaster for any society that takes it up. The Wizard sees this as humanity’s just desert for being fundamentally evil.
2 THE DREAMER
This is by far the most numerous of the socialist types and are only dangerous when in organized large numbers. When those groups turn to violence, catastrophic changes can take place in any society or country. This they see as perfectly justified. The Dreamer is totally sincere in that they believe that socialism will bring about fundamental change for good in human society. They also believe that when a government is taken over by socialists the people will adapt happily to the brave new regime. Elections, therefore, will become unnecessary. The past will become a museum of horror. People who do not cooperate with the new regime must be considered enemies of the Dream and must be repressed in any way that authorities see fit. The Dreamer is also aware of the historical failures of socialism but attributes those failures to the hands of reactionary forces who want nothing but misery for the people.
3 THE PARASITE
This is a smaller group than the Dreamers, but significantly large enough to have electoral power. They are entranced by the Dreamers’ promise of free consumer goods and services. The idea that rich people’s’ money is taken and distributed to those with less, makes perfect sense. The Parasites are even told there is no need to work. They are free to use any goods and services they choose. It has to be said that some Parasites view this arrangement as beneficial to their children or other members of their family. However, they are secretly haunted by the fact that this socialist Dream my be illegal or immoral or both. They assuage this painful discomfort by forcefully declaring these benefits as a right.
