THIS I KNOW – A Vision for America
By Bonnie Parsley 5/1/2020
I know that God is good. I know that he guided the Founders of the United States in drafting our Constitution. This occurred after many weeks of discussion, arguments and disagreements. Finally, Ben Franklin stood and addressed the delegates…..
I have lived, Sir, a long time, and the longer I live, the more convincing proofs I see of this truth- that God Governs in the affairs of men. And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without his notice, is it probable that an empire can rise without his aid? Now, we have reached the point in our history where we must ask for his guidance again, not just for Congress but for the entire nation.
Since the election of Donald J. Trump as President, the mainstream media has shown enormous bias against him. The Democrats in Congress have lied, created investigations, and resisted him at every opportunity. Truth in the age of Trump is a rare thing. However, I know that the majority of the American people will not be deceived.
The American voters see the truth. They understand how the media, the universities, Hollywood, and progressive politicians have spread far left propaganda for many years. It has gotten worse, much worse, since Trump was elected. Harvard researchers have found that 93% of the coverage of President Trump by MSM has been negative. The belief in equal justice is imbedded in the DNA of Americans, and they will abandon news outlets that they see are unfair.
This I know!
I know that God has placed responsibility in the United States to be an example to the rest of the world. He has guided us through tough times before. Reagan was reelected despite terrible things being said about him. If you read a high school text book today, you will find a negative picture of his presidency. However, the American people know the truth about the economic recovery under Reagan. They credit him with ending the Cold War without firing a shot. They have not been deceived by Democrats, media or liberal professors.
I know that the ability to uncover the truth, and develop wisdom resides within each and every one of us as long as we make the effort to discover it for ourselves. We find truth in studying history, from reading the great works of great men, and from separating reality from utopian fantasy. Many ideas may sound great in theory but in practice they do not work. All we need do is look at the examples of Cuba and Venezuela and how they have devolved into dictatorships. Great ideas are based on real experience, not wishful thinking.
You cannot fashion a collectivist society without destroying the individual.
This I know.
It has been tried before. It is illustrated today in North Korea. If we trade our individualism for the utopia of equality, we will harm the creative spirit that makes us unique. We will become robots who take orders from leaders who live like kings while the rest of us barely survive.
Americans are not made this way. Socialism will never envelop the American people who value individual initiative and reward for hard work. It only appeals to those who think they are smarter than most and want to control others. It appeals to those who want government to take care of them and their needs. So, even though we live in a time when some people want to fundamentally transform our nation, even though we are facing a great pandemic that has hurt our economy, we will not be deterred. We will be confident in the future. We will stay strong as a nation and defeat every threat, including the coronavirus.
